Coaches

I have been teaching for several years now and have a love for health and fitness that I am hoping to instill in our students. I developed a passion for athletics as a young girl playing multiple sports, volleyball being my favorite. My career as a player culminated with years playing volleyball in college and professionally in Guimaraes, Portugal after which I found every opportunity I could to pursue a profession in Physical Education and coaching. I am always looking to further my teaching education and experience and am currently working on my masters in Kinesiology (with a coaching emphasis) from Georgia Southern University.
I am married to my high school sweetheart Cameron, and we have four children together: Dylan (16), Sydney (14), Macey (12), and James (8). We are California natives who enjoy board games, bike rides, the Lakers, Dodgers, and competing (in literally anything).
Nothing brings me more joy than seeing a student work hard, succeed and have fun in what they love (sports or otherwise). I look forward to getting to know each of my students and learning what inspires them so that I can be a pathway through which they can achieve their goals.
Go Lions!

Coach Drew Smith is in his second year as a volleyball coach in the program and his third year as a Spanish teacher at Central High School. Coach Smith started out on the volleyball court when he was 4 years old, watching his dad lead the Central High School program. He then had the privilege to play at Southern Storm, an Atlanta based male volleyball club, where he was a defensive specialist, and participated in beach tournaments through the local volleyball club, WGVA. Coach Smith also played tennis in addition to volleyball.
At CHS, Coach Smith assists with the volleyball and tennis programs, teaches Spanish II and III, and co-leads the international EF tours. He is very excited about the growth and potential of the CHS Volleyball Program!
