Coach Chris Smith is in his 23rd year teaching and his 25th year coaching. Coach Smith began his coaching career as a baseball community coach at Lithia Springs High School. He started his teaching career in 2000, also at LSHS, coaching football and baseball. He soon transitioned to coaching volleyball and softball before moving to Central High School in 2005. His coaching experience also extended to the collegiate level when he coached the inaugural WGTC Knights volleyball team at West Georgia Technical College in 2009. Coach Smith returned to Central in 2014. In 2020, the team made school history when they advanced to the Elite 8 in state playoffs, and on August 18, 2022, Coach Smith earned his 200th win at Central High. Coach Smith and his wife, Monica, are the proud parents of Drew, a senior Spanish Ed major at the University of Georgia, and Will, a freshman Music & Worship Leadership at Shorter University. They live in Carrollton with their dogs, Max and Finley. In addition to coaching, Coach Smith loves working out, cycling, and training for the Ironman Florida competition, a triathalon consisting of a 2.1 mile swim, a 112 mile bike ride, and a 26.2 mile run. He will run his 4th Ironman in November.

I have been teaching for several years now and have a love for health and fitness that I am hoping to instill in our students. I developed a passion for athletics as a young girl playing multiple sports, volleyball being my favorite.  My career as a player culminated with years playing volleyball in college and professionally in Guimaraes, Portugal after which I found every opportunity I could to pursue a profession in Physical Education and coaching. I am always looking to further my teaching education and experience and am currently working on my masters in Kinesiology (with a coaching emphasis) from Georgia Southern University.

I am married to my high school sweetheart Cameron, and we have four children together: Dylan (16), Sydney (14), Macey (12), and James (8).  We are California natives who enjoy board games, bike rides, the Lakers, Dodgers, and competing (in literally anything).

Nothing brings me more joy than seeing a student work hard, succeed and have fun in what they love (sports or otherwise). I look forward to getting to know each of my students and learning what inspires them so that I can be a pathway through which they can achieve their goals.

Hello Central High School Community!! My name is Shannon Holt. I was born in Killeen Texas, as an Army Brat I had the privilege of living in many places until my parents settled back into their home town of Lynchburg, Virginia. Coach Holt has coached Softball, Volleyball, Girls Basketball, Competition and Sideline Cheer. Coach Holt and her husband also were owners of Cheer Xplosion an All-Star Gym in Lynchburg VA.   I met my husband my junior year of high school at church, as he had just returned from Desert Storm.  (I had been writing to him when he was overseas and did not know it was him.) We married in 1995 and we have two children Rudd V and Kassidy. My son,  Rudd  V and his wife Rachel have two children Colden 10 and Emery 7. My daughter Kassidy and her husband Ector have 7 dogs and 6 cats.  I am  excited to be one of the four  Adapted Teachers at Central High School.     In addition to coaching VB, Flag and Basketball Sideline Cheer, Coach Holt helps with assisting our Athletic Trainer.  Coach Holt also is Carroll County's Rep for Special Olympics Track meet. It is so important that we share the light of kindness, love and positivity with anyone that we come into contact with.
